Like everyone else, outdoor kitchen designs are probably our favorite here at Kitchens Sydney. Enjoying an outdoor kitchen mean warmer weather and having a few drinks as someone fires up the BBQ! It doesn’t get better than this and the right outdoor kitchen design makes it even better.
This is because a well-designed outdoor kitchen creates more space to entertain guests and also adds value to your home. If you decide to install an outdoor kitchen, it is important to design it well and build it sturdy. A poorly built outdoor kitchen detracts from the look of the home and quickly becomes an eyesore. That being said, here are some design tips for the perfect outdoor space:
- The size should be functional. Depending on how many people you want to have over, your outdoor kitchen and dining area should be able to accommodate everyone comfortably.
- The location should be logical. If you have an outdoor patio, you may just want to enclose it if you have a small yard. If you have a larger property you may want to build a freestanding outdoor kitchen and dining area away from the house.
- Consider running gas, electric and water lines. If you have running water, a refrigerator, and a propane barbeque, you won’t need to run back and forth to the house. This means more time with your guests while you are barbequing.
- What type of enclosure do you want? You can build a permanent structure like a pavilion, or you can build a pergola which can have vines or flowering plants growing on it. With a permanent structure you can also put up ceiling fans for hot days.
- What kind of flooring will you choose? The flooring can be tile, brick or plain sealed concrete.
- Installing extras like a beer tap or a wine rack add even more conveniences. If your outdoor kitchen is attached to the house you may even want to consider installing a bathroom that is accessible from the outside.
As you can see, there are an infinite amount of possibilities for planning and building your outdoor kitchen and Kitchens Sydney is here to help you make them a reality.
